the storyline with Heather and Daniel is just ridiculous??? I mean, here she is , a D.A., dating (or hanging out with) a college student? She has to be the youngest DA ever, what is she...12? I mean, I know it's a soap opera, but come on, this storyline isn't even interesting, it's just plain stupid. We see her chit-chatting with all the people she has or tried to prosecute. This is definitely one of those storylines that I can't wait to be over. Let the collesge student hang out and date amongst themselves and send Heather packing back to wherever she came from. She's boring and has no personality.

It is a shame, they have written her character as quite boring. I do think she has the spunk down there, but there is something that is holding it back. I think we have all seen that when Paul told her , he was her father. It's kind of odd the only friend she seems to have is Maggie. They kind of click in a good way, not just when they are working together, but Maggie knows when to step aside too.

If her character doesn't get some type of good storyline soon (and yes, it seems odd the crowd she is hanging with - but there are no other people her age that they have on the show for her to hang with) she will be put on the back burner I think. I'd like to see more interaction with her and Paul, and have them mend their relationship, and maybe see her get into a jam, and have him come to save her from whatever the problem is.

Guess we have to wait and see.

Yea the storyline may sound ridiculous, but it's the writer who writes storylines, and adds abit of suspense into it, thus throwing the Y %26amp; R fans to think what the heck? So we have to find out what's really behind this Daniel and Heather thing?? i was thinking the same thing. she is way to young to be a DA even an ADA. she has feeling for a guy she tried to put in jail, a guy who prob killed her friend when they were in college, friends with kevin, jana and amber all very messed up ppl. it jus doesnt add up. plus she is so freaking wound up ALL the time. girl needs to take smtng and jus relax. i dont want her with daniel and she annoys me.

Its asham she acts so stupid because Y %26amp; R has a good opportuity for a great story. She's Pauls daughter for petes sake. Imagine her deciding to dig around Pauls life and find out all the stuff he did when he was younger. Maybe she would realize that he did the right thing when he gave her up.

But acting the way she does and hanging out with the people she just spent all her time trying to put in jail really doesn't make any sense. Either change actresses or change the storyline.

Lily would be mad,in a weird, "this is my ex and you're my best friend sort of way, but her modeling career would send her all over the world.While Lily is gone, Cane would see how caring Amber is towards his grandmother and see her in a new light. Then they would get back together. Lily would come home and end up in Devon's arms...giving Neil a heart attack for real....just as he's about to "go into the light" Dru shows up. Neil thinks she's an angel he sees, but she is actually in his hospital room!! Neil dumps Karen, and she in turn ends up with.........BRAD!!! Problem solved. And THAT'S how we get Heather to stop being so BORING!!!!! LOL

So, I'm a high school senior. I go to school from 7:30a to 8:15a M-F, wrapping up one credit to graduate.

I am diagnosed bi-polar and oppositional defiant disorder. My life is a soap opera.

I have worked a lot of jobs. I worked at Target for 4 months, and walked out on it. I got a job at Wal-Mart, got pissed one night (overnight stocking), and walked out. I started working as a temp person at the local hospital. I quit going because they would call and tell me I had to be there in 15 minutes.. angered me.

I start.. in 9 hours.. for a rather large company that owns airlines, gas stations, banks, etc. as a maintenance technician.

My issue is.. even when I'm not working or even going to school, there is no MAGICAL amount of sleep for me.

If I do not set an alarm, I will sleep 12, 13, or even 14 hours. On an average morning, to get up at 7am.. I'll go to bed around 10pm. I'll set 8 or 9 alarms (every 5 mins) on my phone, and have my computer blast a police siren at 7.

I am always tired.. impossible to wake up... hm?symphony

i wish i had grand advice.

what meds are you on? anti-psychotics such as risperidone and olanzapine will make you sleepy unless you're manic (have excess dopamine).

if you're lucky, you'll get into my position. i have a work-at-home job, flex hours, only 1/2 time. disability pays the other half. i still have a heck of a time putting in my hours.

I had this problem and believe it or not when I had my blood taken at my Doctor he said my Thyroid was abnormaly low, which was the cause of me sleeping all the time and being soooo tired all the time. Which this might not be your case but it reminds me of mine, go to your Doctor have your blood taken see if something show's up .

I really want to believe in reality shows because of shows like Extreme Home Makeover and The Biggest Loser but you can never tell by the media. The media will take the boringest thing and make a show of it that can be addicting. I believe that SOME reality shows are real but some parts I'm certain are scripted. Like on AI for example. Carrie Underwood's orignal audition did not include Paula because Paula was out doing something else at that time. They had to have Carrie perform again while Paula was present.

It's their new style. We'll get to see the full extent of their changes on Feb. 29th. Interesting that they're doing it on leap day!

I was reading a story about the new style in Soap Opera Weekly and it said that they needed to revamp all their current stuff and they only had a budget of $30K! They decided to use all of the staff offices as well. The article said that the church is actually the head writer's office transformed into the church.

Also probably why it's so shaky is they said that it's all being filmed with hand held cameras and there is no set flow to the fiming but rather the actors play the scenes and the filmers are kinda "winging it". filming as the scene plays out and choosing their own angles.

It is some new camera technique that a lot of the soaps are trying out. Some have gotten rid of them due to viewers complaining. They make me motion sick!

They have been advertising that they are going to be showing and filming it in a new way. I personally think it is great. They seem to be shooting the scenes outside on actual locations rather than inside on premade sets. Enjoy the fun, difference as oppose to the same old stuff.

Can anyone suggest a serries on par with Sword of Truth?

I was really into Terry Goodkinds Sword of Truth serries. But it started getting to drawn out for me almost like a soap opera where you keep reading cause your hooked I really wasn't liking them anymore.

I tried reading Pern by ??Anne McCaffery??

It seemed to geeked out and involved and I couldn't even finish the first chapter.

Wheel of time seems like it could be good but They are so huge and there are so many of them, and the seem like they could be too involved.

Basically I like SciFi and or fantasy books that are all about the charecters. Really liked the dark elf trillogy and Icewind Dale Trilliogy by R.A Salvitore. Really got to know the charecters and the author didn't try and lay down a whole different fantasy universe with its own 20k languege of different palaces and people who really don't matter to the story line and just end up giving me a headache.

Was wondering if his other serries's were any good as well if anyone had any other suggestions?

Try Dragonlance. It's kinda like the Dark elf Trilogy and Icewind Dale, but with a different plot, and I think some good writing. Theres a little bit of everything in them. I liked them a lot.
Try George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire
Robert Jordan's "Wheel of Time" has it's merits and you may find them to be to your tastes .

If you like character development and story-line I would recommend The Ghormenghast Trilogy by Mervyn Peake .

First I would definitely suggest finishing the sword of truth. I know some of the middle books are a little drawn out and stale but the finale is worth it. Second I would suggest the Cleric Quintet series by R.A. Salvatorie. It is only five books long and is enjoyable. There is a three book series by John Marco that begins with The Eye of God that is a good read. In a slightly different genera I would suggest the Dark Tower books by Stephen King. They get to be a little drawn out like The Sword Of Truth but it is a finished series that is seven books long and the ending is really good. The Jester by James Patterson is a good stand alone. I hope these suggestions help.
I have read ALL the sets of books you mentioned above. I really do like the pern books. Well I like all of them...lol. I am also stuck in the middle of the sword of truth books and MANY times wanted to call it quits with the Wheel of time books. I really love all of RA Salvatore and have read all but his newest novels. Terry Brooks is great as well. His Sword of Shannara series gets a bit stale in the middle but he more than makes up for it towards the end. And he is writing wonderfully on those again. But he also has a shorted series called Landover that are alot of fun. Sara Douglas is good. Marrion Zimmer Bradley's Darkover Novels are AWESOME and are absolutely on a par with sword of truth and Wheel of time and I have yet to find one that was even a little stale. And if you want a fun read that is far from serious the Xanth novels by Peirs Anthony are pretty cool.

What's wrong with the cameras that tape All My Children?

I'm not sure if it's me or my TV but over the past couple of weeks whenever I catch an episode of the soap opera All My Children on ABC-TV, the film looks weird. The cameras seem like they move around a lot and the picture looks almost like it was taped with an average camcorder instead of a studio camera. I feel like I'm watching a home movie rather than something filmed at a professional studio. It only looks that way with All My Children, nothing else looks like that so I'm thinking it must be something with that show only. Has anyone else noticed this? Does anyone know what's going on?

I watched Friday for the first time in awhile, and was like - am I on drugs or something? I don't like the new production values at all, and wish they would go back to the other. But knowing ABC, this is probably cheaper. Sure LOOKS cheaper.

Oh yes definitely, I have been a UFC fan since UFC 1.

I always knew it would be a matter of time before pro wrestling and even boxing would lose its luster. Chuck Liddel is one of the best strikers that I have ever seen...Modern day that is. Back in the day there were guys like Don the Predator Frye, The Monster Kevein Randleman, Dan The beast Severn, and many others.

And I really like Diego Sanchez too, but do you really think he stands a chance against Matt Hughes? I dont Matt Hughes is one of the baddest dudes in the UFC right now. My hubby watches UFC and Wrestling. I always enjoyed Boxing, myself. The UFC is raw fighting, all real, so I prefer it to Wrestling. I only liked Wrestling when they had Stone Cold and The Rock, because they were believable... and eye-candy!

I'm hoping that the 4th season will be as good as the last three.

Lets start with that, then tell my why everyone wants a soap opera to happen in their lifetime. Then tell me why anybody would try thier hardest to destroy such a unique friendship? Maybe I should tell you the story. I have (or had more or less) a close friend of the opposite sex. We were nothing more than friends. However, because she was dating someone else, her friendship with me was looked upon as wrong, immoral, cheating..? I did nothing with her that I wouldn't do with any one of my other friends. Was I in the wrong, or did people have a right to try to sabatoge the friendship?

First off there is nothing wrong with just being friends with someone of the opposite sex.

It doesn't really matter what other people think..there will always be that one person who tries to hurt others relationships. As long as you and your friend are comfortable with your realtionship thats all that should matter.

As for others who feel its wrong.... they are not good friends if they were they would know there is nothing wrong with your relationship. If its her Boyfriend then he is very insecure with himself and his realtionship with his girlfriend. Unless she is the one leading him to think that your relationship with her maybe be more to make him jealous.

There are some who just can't accept other relationships liek yours its sad but true.

I personally have had similar problems in the past. But if you and her are truely close and best friends everything will work out. If not then the friendship is not worth your time.

How do you help a child who lies constantly?

My friends stepson who is almost 9 lies about everything. It is not just his imagination either. He may not have seen someone for weeks and he suddenly will mention a conversation they had about a subject that my daughter and I were just discussing ( even an incident that took place on a soap opera). He's an A B student but always in trouble in school. I don't know if he might be adhd or bi-polar. He is very sensitive and cries easily and wants to know how come no one believes him. When told that he just told a lie he swears he didn't. Has anyone else had this problem? I would really like to know how to help this child. I've kept him for most of the summer since I live in the country and he can freely run and play here. His dad and stepmom have been married for nearly a year but he has lived with them for over 2 years and has always behaved this way according to his dad.

It sounds like he needs a professional psychologist to speak with him in order to give his mom and dad a proper diagnosis. He could have some form of a delusional issue which would be extremely serious. i'm no psychologist so don't take that as a diagnosis or anything. Just get that kid some help.
Suggest that his parents have him see by a doctor. Maybe give them a list of child psychiatrists in your area. Frankly I'm going to bet he is simply the typical product of a broken home and dealing with the overwhelming feelings of loss of control, anger, and great sadness.
You can help him by giving him positive attention and reinforcement. Children lie or make up stories to receive attention or feel better about themselves or their current life situations. Because he cries easily and seems very sensitive, I would guess that his self-confidence and esteem level is low. A lot of change has occurred in his life (parents remarrying, spending time away from them) and he is struggling. My advice is when he lies or makes up a story, engage him in conversation about things that have really happened or his favorite hobbies. If he begins to lie again, redirect him towards a true story or change the subject. Praise him for things he does well. He seems like he needs a lot of love and friends to hear him out.
