my daughter is watching it while I am at work, and I am really worried about it... it seems like a soap opera channel for teenagers....and she isn't quite a teenager yet. What age should you be to watch it ??I haven't had time to research this and I think it might be a bad influence on my child... should I be worried?????????
give me the scoop please !!
I know it's obvious that I need help, but I do..PLEASE tell me what the N CHANNEL, and DEGRASSI is all about ?violin
omg i love degrassi and I've been watching it since i was 11 and right now I'm almost 13. the show is a teen drama. its like a whole bunch of things that happen in a group of teens. Degrassi is a high school and there are situations that 1 group of teens get into. the show is on channel 137 for time Warner cable, 303 for direct TV. the show does in fact have things that i don't know if you would want your daughter watching. you're also Lucky you've asked this question because the-n is playing every degrassi episode ever *its finished today* the show does have hookups, there was an episode with a school shooting, teen pregnancy, 1 guy got killed, eating disorder, and soo much more. personally i love the show but i don't know if you would find it suitable for your child* depending on her age* the-n is a good channel don't worry. it is rated PG. its a Canadian show. the show does have a good message at the end.
im watching degrassi rite now
Hope this helps :)

No don't be worried. I started Watching degrassi around the age of 12-13. I think it's a great show on teenage life and other things. One of my favs since it came on The-N.
Degrassi is actually a pretty good show, even for preteens. It follows the teenagers that go to a high school and the very normal situations they encounter. This does include some "risky" topics, like dating, teen sex, teen pregnancy, school shootings, bullying, eating disorders, sexuality, body image, family problems, divorce, abuse, gangs, etc. However, the show always deals with it very tactfully and with strong morals in mind. I wouldn't be too worried about her watching it. Better yet, can you tape it and watch it together? I certainly think that it's a good show for parents to watch with their kids so that you can discuss what happens.
the-n is a good channel, but i think she should be a little older, i started watching at about twelve, but the show really has matured covering any topic you could think of.
Degrassi is a canadian show for kids. I know that when I was in school, they had great messages and were shown specifically in schools(health classes and such) to teach lessons on everything from teen pregnancy to divorcing parents. The N Channel is Nickolodeans channel that used to be called Noggin. It is for tweens and teenagers. As for the age to watch, that depends on what you want her watching. Some would say let six year olds watch, others don't want their 16 year olds watching. Try to record it and watch one after she goes to bed so you can judge for yourself.
i watch degrassi.. um.. it's like all of these teen dramas.. um... it's actually hard to explain it.. umm.. the n has shows.. some of them are so stupid the n has like zoey 101, unfabulous, amanda show, degrassi, south of nowhere, about a girl, and that's all i can think of... um... the tv rating on degrassi on my tv says 14 years old.. so if u trust her and trust that she won't do the wrong things just because this person did this on degrassi then i would think it's acceptable but if u don't trust her.. then um.... idk lock the channel out.. but just as an warning if u lock it out she can get real mad and she could try to figure out how to unlock it.... so idk about the situation ur in..
Deggrassi is the best,,,i even got my mom hooked i must admit it not g rated but theres no cussing or anything and its sorta like a soap opera but its ok if u are over maybe 9??? dont be worried catch an episode on ondemand trust me the N is an ok channel for people 9 nd up
