Anything from the first season is out, as it's far too cheesy (in my opinion)
The person I am introducing Star Trek to enjoys shows like Law %26amp; Order: SVU and even a soap opera.
I'm looking for an episode of Star Trek that is easy enough to understand (no crazy time traveling, or parallel universes), and does a good job of encapsulating the essence of the show.
What do you think?
What is a good episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation to watch with someone who has never seen the show?home theater system
the episode called q who where they first meet the borg
What is a good episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation to watch with someone who has never seen the show?the grand theater opera theater
Farpoint Station
Any of the episodes with "Q". He's hilarious and will make a great comic relief for your friend just adjusting to Star Trek.
Maybe I'm a bit biased since I love the ep, but. . . "Inner Light"? It doesn't come across as *terribly* sci-fi to me, and the story's good as far as sucking you in once you get the intro out of the way.
A few recommendations are:
3rd season:
- The offspring
- The best of both worlds I and II (best watched with 2nd season's Q Who)
4th season:
- Family
- Data's Day
- Devil's Due
- Qpid
- The Drumhead
- In Theory
5th season:
- Darmok
- The Inner Light
6th season:
- A Fistful of Datas
- Chain of Command I and II
