I need advice for a maid of honor speech for my sister.?

My sister is getting married %26amp; Ive been working on my speech %26amp; I want to include how me %26amp; my sister would host eachothers afternoon tea parties while we watched our soap opera( It was only the 2 of us). Also I want to include how every chance I got, I loved going to visit her when she was at college (quite a bit)..

I dont know how to word any of this though.. I was trying to think of a way that I could make the tea party part funny but thats ok if its not. So any suggestions? Thank you!

Those type of memories are the fond things that you can/should share in a letter to your sister. However the best man's /bridesmaid speech is basically a toast to the bride/groom and wishes for the future and their happiness.

You can include one funny/charming story, but remember not to make it too long. You could also give advice to the groom, by saying these are things that my sister and I loved to do together, so as she and you lived together for the first half of her life you pass the torch to him to make the second half of her life as memorable and exciting.
you have the perfect speech already! thats what your speech should be about~memories of your sister and your afternoon tea parties, your pillow fights, how she always took the last cookie and never left you one - but she'd beat up anyone who made you cry! the visits to her college and her showing you around the area and making you feel like you were her best friend and not just her annoying little sister. how the two of you would sit up nights whispering and giggling long after your mum and dad yelled 'go to sleep'. the tricks you played on each other, and on your parents and always the love you shared as sisters and will continue to share as you grow older! wish her the very best life has to offer and tell her you will always be there for her no matter what!

good luck with it sweetie you'll do just fine!
There are no rules...

Here is an idea for you...Breathe. Relax and tell your funny stories.

Toast the Bride and Groom but use your own words.

You love your sister.

Start by telling your sister to put her hand on the table and tell her groom to put his on top of hers. You'll explain it later.

Try to be simple with it. This is why I love you...It is because of the afternoon Tea/soap opera sessions...it is because you let me visit you in college...it is because you are my sister.

"Groom" take care of her and don't worry I am sure you will enjoy the tea as much as I did...after all "sister's name" will be there to tell you how much your enjoying it.

And right before your done...Say "Now as far as your hands go...I am glad I can be to one to have helped "grooms name" have the the upper hand for the last time in his life.

Congrats."

Keep it short , doesn't have to be alot , just speak from the Heart . Remember the wedding isn't all about you , your just a little icing .Don't make a long one . Just nice that's all.... Good Luck
